Welcome to Collaborative Divorce Amarillo

About The Process

Be In Control of Your Divorce Outcome

When you go to Court, you lose control of your future. A judge will decide your future, not you. All too often, both parties lose in Court, regardless of the facts.  Crowded court dockets and judges who have heard stories similar to yours often result in rulings that you may find disappointing, remember too that judges do not normally like to punish parties in family law cases but rather want to make sure both parties get to see their children and also make sure that neither party ends up indigent.  Collaborative Law allows you and your spouse to be in control of your future by coming to creative agreements specifically customized to the needs of your family and to you.

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much" Helen Keller

Instead of each side hiring their own experts and fighting against each other, Collaborative Divorce participants hire neutrals, in addition to their Collaboratively trained attorneys, to help guide them through the process.  If experts are needed, they agree to hire the same expert instead of warring experts.   By working as a team towards each party's goals and interests, divorce settlements are reached which achieve the best results for families and for their financial futures.  Because the animosity is taken out of the Divorce Process, families are able to move forward more quickly, resulting in healthier children and parents.

Privacy, Transparency, Expediency

Because participants agree not to go to court and instead have meetings at their attorneys' offices, the Collaborative Divorce Process is completely private and confidential (whereas courtrooms are open to the public.)  Additionally, as part of the Process, each participant agrees to fully disclose any and all information requested by the other.  Usefulness of requested information is stressed over the production of information for embarrassment or harassment purposes.  Because this process sidesteps the traditional methods of litigated divorces, the Collaborative Divorce Process normally processes more quickly than the courtroom case.
